There is one thing that I especially love about San Francisco. No it is not the Giants or the 49er's, but the mayor, Gavin Newsome. Not just being appealing in age and looks, which he both has, but also he has done some great things for the bay area city, especially being a major advocate for gay marriage/rights, which I support.
According to SFgate.com, the San Francisco mayor might run for governor of California in the year 2010. If he were to run for governor, I would vote for him in a heartbeat. With California's current situation, I am very much against Arnold Schwarzenegger being our governor. I think he has truly caused problems for our state, especially with all of the budget problems we have been having; we as students in college. Having Newsome as the governor, it would be a nice change and I think that California is definitely in need of some change, starting with the governor position.
Go to the above link and read the article because if people are aware of this early, than it would maybe help people follow it and actually vote in the end.

Thanks for the heads up... I don't know much about him but I will look at the link you provided. I have also been disappointed in the current situation. I thought Arnold would do more to help the schools but it seems that we keep taking money away from them rather than putting it into teaching salaries and upgrades for schools and programs like GATE and special ed. If Newsome decides to run, I'm sure he'll have a lot of support from folks in the bay area who are more in tune with his way of doing business.
he has my vote :D
