While watching the news, it seems on any network, Britney Spears is on all the time. Whether she is having an emotional breakdown or causing scenes elsewhere, she is on the news. It surprises me that someone like her could be "news" that needs to be broad casted every night.
With plenty of other problems in the world today, I am kind of annoyed by the fact that Britney is the one I am watching when I could be learning about other issues affecting our country.
Even though it seems as though she is the one always on, let's say CNN, the media outlet has broadened its horizons with other stars as well. For example, it surprised me how quickly Heath Ledger's death was put on all the on-going news television stations. Granted it was a loss to Hollywood, but it was on there for several days. I would have expected it to be on a more modern channel, like the E! channel, but not on CNN or Fox News.
I know that stories, like "What will Britney Spears do next?", are what sells, but the media should focus more on what is truly important, not what they think will draw in the younger audiences.

I totally agree with you, I pretty much said the same thing in my blog. I always get the feeling that the news is only reporting things on celebrities. And it's the same story over and over, enough already, there are more important things out there that people ought to know.
I think that people like Britney Spears are going to be all over the news until people stop wanting that in the news. People keep watching it and talking about it, therefore it is going to be all of over the news. There are more important things to broadcast but it really is what sells the most.
Yeah, seriously there is nothing that we can do about this situation...FOX news is so corporate that they will try and get people to watch of any and all ages, even if it means showing Britney Spears every single day. It's sad but that is what a lot of people in this country want to hear about. It's crazy to think that especially with the election around the corner and so many huge things going on in our world, and what do we get..Britney..YAY! Pretty shitty.
I feel really sorry for Britney and her children. It would be nice if the paparazzi could just back off for a while and let her get her act together and figure out what she's going to do to keep her kids safe. Her family and friends have exploited her for many years and now they need to step up and help her in her time of need. It seems like the news will be thrilled if her life ends tragically - one report says that her obituary has already been prepared. Something is definitely wrong with that picture!
